๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ”’[GUIDE] Quick Start & Firewall Setup

Welcome to Stream Commander! ๐Ÿ‘‹
Follow these steps to connect the app to your OBS Studio and remote server.
1. OBS Studio Connection (WebSocket)
  1. Open OBS Studio -> Tools -> WebSocket Server Settings.
  2. Enable the server (Port 4455).
  3. In the app's SET tab, enter your PC's IP, port, and password.
  4. Click SAVE OBS SETTINGS and then CONNECT in the DECK tab.

2. Windows Firewall Setup (CRITICAL) ๐Ÿ”ฅ

If the app cannot find OBS, you must allow Port 4455:
  1. Search Windows for "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security".
  2. Go to Inbound Rules -> New Rule.
  3. Select Port -> TCP -> Type 4455.
  4. Select Allow the connection and name it OBS WebSocket.
๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Don't know your PC's IP address?

โ€ข Press Windows Key + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
โ€ข In the black window, type ipconfig and look for IPv4 Address (usually looks like 192.168.x.x).

๐ŸŒ Advanced: Connecting from Outside (4G/5G) & DDNS

If you want to control your stream while away from home (using mobile data), you need Port Forwarding. However, home IP addresses often change (Dynamic IP), which breaks the connection.

To fix this permanently, we recommend using a free DDNS service like DuckDNS.
  1. Port Forward: Log in to your router and forward ports 4455 (OBS) and 22 (SSH) to your PC's local IP.
  2. Get a Domain: Go to duckdns.org, sign in, and create a free domain (e.g., mystreamer.duckdns.org).
  3. Keep it Updated: Install the DuckDNS updater app on your PC (or configure it inside your router if supported). This keeps your address pointing to the right place automatically.
  4. In Stream Commander: Instead of an IP number, type your new domain address (e.g., mystreamer.duckdns.org) into the IP field.
โš ๏ธ Important: Port forwarding and DDNS settings depend heavily on your specific router model. Please refer to Google or YouTube guides for "How to set up DuckDNS on [Your Router Model]".
๐Ÿ”’ Security Warning: Exposing ports to the internet carries risks. Ensure you have a strong password set for both OBS WebSocket and your SSH user!

3. SSH Setup
  1. In the SET tab, scroll to SSH SERVER.
  2. Enter your credentials and click SAVE SSH.
  3. Use the TERM tab to run commands.

Note: SSH requires a Pro subscription after the 14-day trial.
